Hey guys, I'm excited to announce that following the success of our two preliminary summer workshops, the council have now given us a substantial grant to start up more regular sessions!
This is definitely a positive step in the right direction in terms of showing the local authorities that parkour is a positive activity, and I'm hoping to get as much support as possible, so whether you're a regular on the scene or a total newcomer wanting to learn the basics, come along and jam.

The setup will be:
- One 2 hour weekly session during term time.
- More activities for during the holidays.

Right now we're thinking that a Sunday could work best for the weekly session, but we need your feedback as a weekday evening is still a possibility, so if you're interested in the workshops then please vote on the poll and let us know.
(If weekdays prove more popular then we will have another poll to figure out which)

More info coming as soon as I get it.

Train hard and spread the word!
RichJ.

This sounds awesome, simply put.

I'm so glad the council are finally realising what parkour is really like, and I hope that this will really spread awareness.

If they go ahead on a Sunday then yes it's likely they'll be during the day, otherwise a weekday option will have to take place some time in the evening (due to most attendees having school, work etc).

Good to hear from you guys so far, try and spread the word as much as possible and get other interested.

Sounds pretty awesome.
This is definitely a huge step in the right direction.
I'm always interested in coming, but Sundays are by far the better option for me.
Especially seeing as i go to school in Potters Bar, a fair distance from sunny ol' S.A.

I consider myself a local on the scene, so I'd love to turn up to these, on a regular basis.
And everyone remember, be on your best behaviour.

There's a key distinction between council-funded workshops and Herts Parkour regular training sessions.
Regular Saturday sessions will always happen, because we're not subject to any restictions - we all just casually meet and jam. Workshops will be more specifically managed because we have to rent gyms and provide coaching and equipment etc etc.
Hope that explains it. Feel free to keep asking questions.

i voted Sunday, but now all things considered a week day would be better, maybe Tuesday.

sorry for voting for the wrong one. (y)

I've gone for weekdays, because i figured that most people would be worn out after a deacent saturday session (obviously some people might not wear themselves out that much) so it would make more sense to ahvee it on a weekday evening so that all the people that do go to school and possibly work during the day can get rid off all their stress and energy at these workshops. I know that I definatley never really feel like training on sundays. (y)
Oh and if you do ever need any help wich coaching and helping and stuff I'd be happy, aslong as the sessions aren't on wednesdays or fridays cos I work at the gym those days.

That's all my input guys :)
