Michael Jackson passed away earlier on this evening, he died of Cardiac Arrest. It is a huge loss, he was a legend, he could have been the greatest guy or a criminal, either way he will be missed.

What are your thoughts on this then?

It's baaad. (n)

He made good music like ten years ago.

The legend died then, and a paedophile took over. If Sadam Hussain had made good music would everyone be like 'oh no, he's dead, cry cry cry'.
He may have influenced the music world greatly, but he was still a fucked up bad man.

people die every day, making sacrifices for their families etc, through out their lives all over the country. yes some one dying is sad, but i don't understand how people, make a big deal about one death when thousands of good people die every day.

Yes it's sad that he passed away, but I think it's hard to feel any kind of emotional attachment unless you really knew the guy or were an avid fan.

What I don't like is every news program, paper and radio show jumping on some bandwagon and acting like they never thought anything bad about that man in the first place.

Same as when BBs Jade died, wasn't that fussed but got annoyed at the sudden change in peoples' opinions
Practice, practice and practice some more.

I wasn't a paticurlarly big fan of MJ, but I can't help but feel bad that he's gone. He has had such a big effect on the way music currently is, and me as a person.

But I still have to agree that the papers are being so hypocritical. Not that long ago papers were bashing him for (allegedly) being a paedophile, and leading a less than ordinary life. But now, far too late in my opinion, are seeing him for the legend he was.

Okay I get where your coming from, but Bloo, I do not think Michael Jackson could have been compared to Saddam, thats a bit of a stretch.

Plus it wasn't actually proven that he was a peadophile, just a little bit strange in his way.

The biggest problem I have is that some people are like he was so amazing, i miss him, i love him, he changed my life etc. Now thats okay to a point, ie, respecting him. But he lived and died in the public eye, that doesn't mean people really knew him.
I agree with Kokeui, when Jade died everyone seemed to forget she was a racist in Big Brother, same now, they must play on the publics emotions, by either stirring things up or bringing them down. I personally thought nothing bad of Michael Jackson, I enjoyed his music and just ignored the whole personal affairs bit the media seemed to 'rape'.

But despite this, he was still a legend in my opinion.

Anyone can be dismissed of charges when they're loaded ;)

As i say, the guy who made good music died over a decade ago, and made way for a wierdo.

So what if he was a weirdo? He was a litle eccentric, and due to other events in his life made decisions that probably didn't help the publics view on him, but through all of this he still managed to be a great man.

He holds the record for "most charities supported by a pop-star" in the Guinness book of world records, and how many of his songs are about racial unity and making the world better?

His charity work didn't stop, and I think that makes him a much greater man than his music did...

Bloo I hardly think you can judge on whether Michael Jackson was or wasn't a great man, it's all based on opinion and given that none of knew him we don't really have any bases of fact. I agree with Ascryoo though.
